HAMMERHEAD Thresher OC Blade – Double Bend Hybrid Outrigger Paddle
The HAMMERHEAD Thresher OC Blade is a double bend hybrid paddle designed for outrigger canoe paddling. It combines a carbon blade with a laminated timber shaft and wooden T Grip to provide a balance of structural strength and traditional shaft construction.
The blade is manufactured from carbon and measures 24cm (9.5”) wide by 47.5cm (18.5”) high, delivering approximately 120 square inches of power face. The 12° blade angle is designed to support sustained positive face contact through the stroke cycle.
The blade profile is flat with a slight kick at the tip to assist with entry and exit. A defined dihedral is incorporated to support blade stability and controlled rotation through the water.
The laminated timber shaft provides a traditional feel and is reinforced with a carbon lower collar to increase strength in high load areas. The paddle is available in lengths from 47” through to 52”, with extended lengths up to 54” available on request.
Designed for outrigger canoe training and racing, the HAMMERHEAD Thresher OC Blade supports consistent catch engagement and controlled blade tracking across varied water conditions.
